Widgets, widgets, widgets!

So, I've added a couple more features to the site today. Hopefully this blog post will find the Heartbeat module working - if you came here by a direct link to the blog post then you may not have seen the front page of the site. At the top, just below the Digsby chat box, there is what will hopefully be a rundown of new blog posts, content and stuff. If it works, I won't have to mention things like that in blog posts, and I'll only inform you via bloggage of new features to the site... much as I'm doing now.

OK, so I've added a couple things to the site.

First up was on the site before it all went screwy, and was my NaNoWriMo novel from 2007. Well, I say it was my '07 novel - it's actually half of it. The other half is still having some work done on it, just to get rid of some of the obvious stupidity. The intentional stupidity will remain in.

The novel (should probably be classed as a novelette seeing as it's really short) is called 'Amor Est Vitae Essentia', and you can find it in the sidebar under 'The Book Shelf'.

One of the best things about Drupal, is that you can add just about anything as a 'Block' to show in any position on the page. For example, one of my favourite modules is Cumulus, which gives you that rather funky looking flash cloud that you can see in my sidebar.

I've also added a block which will eventually show my NaNoWriMo word count history, but I guess that as the month hasn't started yet, it won't show up yet. I might just have to put up Bill's wordcount too, so that anyone finding themselves on this site can see how our little household word war is going.

I really hate when I try to update a piece of software and it goes all screwed up on me. Bugs the shit out of me.

So imagine how pissed off I was when I was trying to update Drupal, which admittedly I hadn't done in about four months, and it decided to goes tits up. Lets just say my laptop knows what it feels like to fly. I should probably have some anger management or something, but my lappie seems to enjoy flying.
